Press release,

On the occasion of Human Rights Day

ICSPR: Rights are not negotiable or subject to bargaining under any justification.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) salutes human rights activists, defenders, free people around the world, and advocates of humanity on the occasion of Human Rights Day, which matches the 10th of December, where the international community dedicated this day to commemorate Human Rights Day since the issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, this comes in order to highlight the progress made in the realization and promotion of respect for human rights, as well as the solidarity of peoples with the victims of violations, by fulfilling the moral duties entrusted to the international community towards the rights guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which contributes to preventing human beings from being subjected to further violations.

This occasion witnessed the escalation of the Israeli violations practiced before all countries of the world, where the Palestinians face various forms of violations that contradict and violate the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as the Israeli occupation violates the right of the Palestinian human being to political and economic self-determination, the right to life, liberty and personal safety, freedom of movement, and random and daily arrest campaigns.

In addition to escalating settlement expansion and construction, the practice of forced displacement and the Judaization of the city of Jerusalem, and the control of Palestinian natural resources in light of the continued systematic and organized Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, causing violating the civil, political, economic and social rights of the Palestinian people around the clock, and the practice of an unprecedented escalation of its crimes against Palestinian civilians, the most recent of which were the crimes committed during the latest Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip; In addition to the continued imposition of the siege and the policy of closure on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli violations were accompanied by the insistence of the Palestinian leadership to deprive the Palestinian people of exercising their right to choose their representatives through holding general elections and imposing collective punishments against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which began about 4 years ago by deducting more than 60% of the employees’ salaries, and cutting the salaries of thousands of others, and forcibly referring hundreds of employees to early retirement or financial retirement, delaying the payment of financial allocations to poor families, which led to an exacerbation of the tragic conditions of the residents of Gaza. Insisting to deny justice, refraining from executing judicial rulings, practicing arbitrary arrests, preventing peaceful gatherings, violating freedom of opinion and expression, and preventing the issuance of passports to some citizens on the background of political affiliation. The rise in indicators of security chaos that threatens civil and social peace, and the decline in economic and humanitarian conditions, the rise in poverty and unemployment, and the absence of serious national policies to address all national and humanitarian challenges, which makes the year 2021 the worst in terms of respect for human rights.

ICSPR considers that Human Rights Day constitutes a renewed opportunity to stand on the suffering of the Palestinians, and to draw the world’s attention to the ongoing and exacerbated tragedy as a result of the continued deprivation of their basic rights, and reminds the international community of the fact that there is an urgent need to protect Palestinian civilians and triumph for the victims of violations in the occupied Palestinian territories. ICSPR reminds all official bodies in Palestine of the need to work hard to respect human rights in Palestine, by agreeing on a comprehensive national program and strategy to rebuild the institutions of the political system. Accordingly:

  • ICSPR calls on the international community, in particular, the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to intervene in order to compel the Israeli occupation to fulfill the obligations imposed on it by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which, although not mandatory, constitutes the moral force of the idea of human rights.
  • ICSPR affirms that the international community is more than ever required to assume its legal and moral responsibilities individually and collectively, and to take practical measures that lead to respecting and ensuring respect for the principles and provisions of international law, justice, custom and action to end the occupation, and to realize the inalienable legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the adoption of a binding international resolution that ends the occupation and provides international protection for the Palestinian people.
  • ICSPR calls on the United Nations to work seriously for an international conference aimed at considering international mechanisms based on the implementation of the resolutions of international legitimacy that are fair to the Palestinian people, and not to sacrifice the rights of the Palestinian people and make them dependent on the path of negotiations.
  • ICSPR calls on the Palestinian presidency and government to immediately and unconditionally abolish all decisions that carry collective sanctions against the Gaza Strip, and hold them responsible for the inhumane consequences of these sanctions, and to neutralize the rights of employees and citizens from any political considerations.
  • ICSPR calls on duty bearers and the Palestinian leadership to work on restoring unity in a way that enables building all the institutions of the political system on the basis of partnership, rule of law, separation of powers, and strengthening the independence of the judiciary through holding presidential, legislative, National Council, local and union elections in a way that enhances respect for rights and freedoms.

Press Release

ICSPR : killing of children and women and bombing of houses over the heads of their inhabitants; A well-established military doctrine of the Israeli occupation that reflects its intention to commit war crimes.

The Israeli military forces continue their aggression and military operations in the Gaza Strip for the third day in a row, in which they deliberately and systematically target civilians and their civilian properties, especially residential homes located in densely populated neighborhoods, with the aim of killing children and women, displacing families and causing massive material damage in the surroundings. housing for these establishments.

Until 08:30 this morning, Sunday, 07 August 2022, the Israeli military attacks, according to Palestinian Ministry of Health statistics, caused the death of (29) civilians, including (06) children and (04) women; And 253 civilians were wounded, in addition to a large-scale destruction of a number of civilian facilities and houses that were targeted above the heads of their residents.

The escalation of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip came amid the aggravation of the humanitarian crisis as a result of the strict siege imposed on the Gaza Strip by closing all border crossings, preventing the entry of fuel to the power station and the rest of humanitarian and medical supplies, in light of the fear of an imminent halt to the work of the health sector; Which portends a repetition of the same inhumane scenes that were punctuated by the previous Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupier by all available means, as a right recognized in international law; Emphasizing that the Israeli military doctrine has diverted civilians and their property to legitimate goals, and renewed holding the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the consequences of their ongoing aggression against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the aggravation and deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip; Therefore:

1-ICSPR deplores the continuation of double standards and the conspiracy of international and regional silence on the heinous crimes committed by the military occupation authorities.

2-ICSPR calls on the contracting states to the Fourth Geneva Convention to declare a clear and explicit stance towards Israel’s refusal to not comply and implement the agreement in the Palestinian territories and work hard to provide protection for civilians.

3-ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership to get out of the box of silence and alignment with its people by stopping security coordination with the occupier, withdrawing recognition of the occupying state, and enabling citizens of their rights to confront Israeli crimes.

4-ICSPR urges the international solidarity movement with the Palestinian people, and all Arab, regional and international organizations to move on all legal, political, diplomatic, human rights and popular levels, to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

5-ICSPR calls on the Office of the Public Prosecution at the International Criminal Court to include the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip in the course and file of the Israeli crimes being investigated, including moving forward and at a faster pace to start the preliminary investigations.

6-ICSPR calls for diplomatic and popular action to pressure governments around the world to carry out their moral and legal duties to stop targeting civilians, especially women and children, and targeting civilian facilities.

Following the announcement of the suspension of the only power plant in the Gaza Strip

ICSPR : The Israeli aggression and siege exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) follows with great disapproval and concern the continuation of the aggression launched by the Israeli military occupation forces since the afternoon hours of yesterday, Friday, August 05, 2022; Until this statement is issued; According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health, he left (11) citizens dead; Among them, a girl and a woman; Extensive damage was caused to a number of civil facilities, citizens’ homes, and agricultural lands.

The Israeli aggression was preceded by nearly four days, an Israeli closure of all crossings, including the Karem Abu Salem crossing, which is the only crossing through which goods and commodities flow to the residents of the Gaza Strip, As a result, the process of pumping industrial diesel to the power plant, whose imminent cessation of work was announced, stopped completely at 12:00 noon today, Saturday, August 06, 2022; This will lead to the adoption of the electricity distribution schedule that is available by 04 hours, compared to 12 hours separated from the homes of citizens.

The fact that the only power plant in the Gaza Strip has stopped working means an exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis, depriving citizens of electricity-related services, and in particular weakening their ability to access potable water; It also affects the work of all vital sectors, including hospitals and sanitation.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) renews holding the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the consequences of its ongoing aggression against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, and warns against the consequences of the aggravation and deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip; Emphasizing that the Israeli siege measures are a form of collective punishment criminalized under international law; It considers that preventing the entry of fuel intended for the operation of the power plant is a clear violation of the rules of international humanitarian law that prohibits the occupying power from punishing civilians. It reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupier by all available means, as a right recognized in international law. Therefore:

1-ICSPR calls on the international community to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop its continuous aggression; Ending the blockade of the Gaza Strip by allowing goods and merchandise to flow in a stable manner and allowing the arrival of fuel designated for the power plant to ensure its restart, especially under the current exceptional circumstances.

2-ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the four Geneva Conventions, for the Secretary’s compliance with their moral and legal duties, to take urgent action to provide international protection for Palestinian civilians.

3-ICSPR urges the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to include the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip in the course and file of the Israeli crimes being investigated, including moving forward and at a faster pace to start the preliminary investigations.

Press Release

ICSPR : The international community and the free world have a duty to act immediately to curb and deter the Israeli military occupation forces.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) denounces and condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the Israeli military occupation forces, at 16:15 p.m., today, Friday, August 05, 2022, on a number of air and artillery raids that targeted a number of city facilities in Gaza strip; As a result, according to the statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, until 11:00 pm, (11) civilians were killed, including a girl (05 years), and 87 civilians were wounded. As well as causing extensive damage to more than one city facility.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) believes that the Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip is a violation of international law, and the consequences of the Israeli occupation authorities bear the consequences, And it warns that the current war attacks are a prelude to a broader aggression that Palestinian civilians will pay the price for, considering that the appropriate response to the current Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip is to work on building a Palestinian strategy based on the internationalization of the conflict and the restoration of national unity, And considers that the Israeli occupation forces’ continued perpetration of their crimes against the citizens of the Gaza Strip and their civilian property, would not have been possible without the continuation of the policy of international silence and double standards, and the continuation of the leaders of the occupying power enjoying immunity in the face of international accountability and justice, And stressing that the Israeli occupation forces’ continued targeting of Palestinian civilians in general, and the residents of the Gaza Strip in particular, is a described and full-fledged war crime in accordance with the standards of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Rome Statute establishing the Permanent International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Therefore:

1-ICSPR calls on the international community to promptly and urgently intervene to compel the Israeli occupation to stop its ongoing hostilities in the Gaza Strip, and work to prevent an increase in the scope of Israeli violence and aggression.

2-ICSPR urges the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention to carry out their moral and legal duties by taking urgent action to stop the Israeli aggression, and to provide international protection for the civilian population, especially children and women.

3-ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership and the national community to unite to thwart the goals of the aggression and work to adopt a strategy based on internationalizing the conflict and maximizing the popular, diplomatic, legal and media engagement with the occupation, adopting the boycott and divestment movement from Israel, and calling on the countries of the world to impose sanctions on Israel and hold the leaders accountable The Israeli occupation as war criminals using international jurisdiction and the International Criminal Court.
