Occupied Palestine / Gaza: On Sunday, the International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) opened a training session entitled “Strengthening the capacities of youth on children’s rights” in honor of the International Day of Child Rights.

Dr. Salah Abd Al-Atti, chairman of ICSPR spoke about the necessity of respecting human rights and ensuring respect for the rights of the child and on the International Children’s Day, focusing on abolishing the concept of discrimination between children and involving them in activities and the need to understand the reference for children’s rights and establish a culture of their rights.

Abdel-Atti explained the negative role that the occupation practices against the Palestinian child as a result of its use of the policy of detention, assaulting them, denying them access to schools, as the number of children arrested by the occupation reached 114 children, where he called for campaigns to protect children’s rights.

On the first day of the training, Mr. Bilal Al-Najjar inaugurated the training entitled “Strengthening youth capacities on children’s rights”.

He touched on the first axis, which is to provide a visual presentation through an explanatory video about the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, and he explained the violations that the Palestinian child is exposed to as a result of the unjust Israeli policies against them, and then presented the principles of the agreement, and in conclusion, he presented several human rights issues for discussion.

It is worth mentioning that the International Commission will implement, over the next three days, a training on children’s rights, through which it will target 30 male and female students in various Palestinian universities in the Gaza Strip.
