The International Commission (ICSPR) calls on the official authorities to observe human rights standards and the World Health Organization with citizens subject to health detention
Occupied Palestine / Gaza: The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) welcomed the preventive and precautionary measures, including the quarantine measures, and the ban on gatherings and other measures that the Ministry of Health and other government agencies have started implementing in the Gaza Strip, and at the same time, the International Commission:
ICSPR calls on the official authorities to take into account the best practices adopted by the World Health Organization, and human rights standards, especially with citizens subject to quarantine, in a way that does not lead to prejudice to their rights or expose them to ill-treatment or any degrading treatment, and to enable them to their rights and in particular the provision of decent health reservation facilities that are commensurate with their needs and guarantee their dignity and their right to communicate with the outside without prejudice to health safety procedures, and their right to receive information about their health status.
ICSPR urges the local community to adhere to the declared safety and public health measures, and to consider this as a sharing of responsibility entrusted to everyone in light of the current emergency conditions, and to strive to take the initiative to support official measures.
