Hashd Strongly Condemns the Israeli Occupation Forces for Committing a New Massacre by Bombing Mustafa Hafiz School in Gaza City
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (Hashd) strongly condemns the Israeli occupation forces for committing a new massacre by bombing Mustafa Hafiz School in western Gaza City. The attack resulted in the death of 10 civilians and the injury of dozens of displaced people who had sought refuge in the school, which was sheltering nearly 700 forcibly displaced individuals. This attack is part of a systematic pattern of targeting shelters and intentionally killing and terrorizing civilians, forcing them to flee again as part of a strategy of exhaustion and destruction that constitutes the core of the crime of genocide.
Hashd condemns the ongoing international failure to stop the continuous genocide, now entering its eleventh month. The repeated targeting of shelters and displacement camps, along with the continued perpetration of massacres against the displaced, shrinking humanitarian spaces, and obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid, combined with the use of starvation and thirst as weapons against Palestinian civilians, and the rejection of all ceasefire proposals, even to secure a humanitarian truce to allow the flow of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and vaccines needed to protect civilians from the spread of polio and other life-threatening diseases, underscores the Israeli occupation’s intent to annihilate and destroy the population of Gaza through various forms of aggression and daily crimes.
Hashd calls for the formation of an international humanitarian coalition to stop the ongoing genocide and Israeli aggression, with the participation of the United States, and to enforce relevant United Nations resolutions, International Court of Justice measures, and ensure respect and application of international humanitarian law and human rights treaties. This coalition must also ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors and the flow of medical supplies, fuel, and other essential humanitarian needs to the residents of Gaza, preventing famine, thirst, and the spread of diseases and epidemics, while providing international protection for Palestinians from annihilation, genocide, and forced displacement.
