The International Commission (Hashd): Israel’s repeated assassinations and unlawful executions demonstrate its contempt for the human rights system and international law.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) strongly condemns and denounces the crime of field execution committed by Israeli occupation forces this evening, Sunday, August 6, 2023, in the city of Jenin, which resulted in the death of three Palestinian youths by the bullets of the Israeli occupation army’s Yamam Special Forces, which opened fire on a vehicle carrying the martyrs near the Araba roundabout, south of Jenin, and the assassination and liquidation operation followed when the occupation forces pulled out the targeted Palestinian vehicle and detained the bodies of the three martyrs, according to a statement issued by the occupation army.
The International Commission (Hashd), strongly condemns the recurrence of killings and field executions carried out by Israeli military occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in West Bank cities; in which 2023 (223) Palestinian citizens have been killed since the beginning of this year, including (38) children and (6) women; They emphasize that the extrajudicial killings, executions, and physical liquidations carried out by Israeli military forces and terrorist settler militias against Palestinians are part of a systematic Israeli policy that sanctifies Palestinian blood.
It registers and demands the following:
- The international commission (Hashd) affirms the Palestinian people’s right to resist occupation as a right guaranteed under international law and emphasizes that the new crime of field execution demonstrates clear Israeli disregard for all international condemnations and the human rights system, as well as the rules and provisions of international humanitarian law, particularly the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Rome Statute and that the main reason for this is that the Palestinian people are being persecuted.
- The International Commission (Hashd) calls on the international community to take decisive action to take a clear stance on Israel’s systematic policies and crimes, including support for accountability measures and prosecution of perpetrators of these crimes before the International Criminal Court, under the principle of international jurisdiction.
- The International Commission (Hashd) urges the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations under Article 1 of the Convention, which states that they will respect the Convention and ensure its respect in all circumstances by convening an emergency meeting to provide international protection for Palestinians.
- The International Commission (Hashd) urges the Palestinian Authority to step outside the box of denunciation and condemnation, to implement national consensus decisions to withdraw recognition of the occupying state, to withdraw from all agreements, particularly security commitments, to internationalize the conflict, and to use all diplomatic, political, and legal spaces to strengthen efforts to isolate, boycott, and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against humanity.
Finished.
