The International Commission to Support the Palestinian Rights “HASHD” expresses its compliments to you and appreciates your remarkable role in ensuring the right to personal freedom and a decent life for all human beings, as one of the most basic human rights guaranteed under the minimum human rights and international humanitarian law instruments, with reference to the above subject, we are addressing you again today through this urgent and intolerable appeal to put you in the light of the serious developments that the Palestinian prisoner “Khader Adnan” is experiencing in the prisons of the Israeli occupation, as of the date of this appeal, in protest against his administrative detention and the tragic conditions of prisons that lack the lowest humanitarian standards and conditions. and its serious health implications threaten his life at any moment.
In the details available from his family, the occupation prison administration refuses to transfer him to the hospital despite his serious health condition as a result of today’s hunger strike (70) and instead detains him in the Ramla Prison Clinic under very difficult circumstances. The prisoners deliberately disturb him and deprive him of sleep by breaking into his cell. every half hour, keeping the light on, following which he suffers from frequent fainting, impaired sight, and hearing, and a sense of extreme pressure in the chest area, as well as cramps throughout his body, the vomiting of an acidic sap, and wasting and severe weakness, amid the Department’s deliberate policy of medical neglect of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. in flagrant violation of the principles of human rights and international humanitarian law embodied in the four Geneva Conventions of 1949. Also, it should be noted that 730 Palestinians are under administrative detention, without any specific charge and without trial, denying Palestinian prisoners and detainees the right to defense guaranteed under all international laws and instruments.
In light of the foregoing, we call upon you to make further efforts, By condemning the violations committed by the occupation authorities against Palestinian prisoners and detainees in their prisons and, above all, administrative detention In addition to taking specific measures to pressure the occupation, you must fulfill your responsibilities under the obligation of the occupying power to release detainee Adnan in order to save his life and the lives of other administrative detainees. It also requests that you establish an international commission of inquiry into these violations, in accordance with the provisions of human rights and international humanitarian law and your legal and moral mandate.
