ICSPR STARTED SPECIALIZED TRAINING COURSE ABOUT THE POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF PALESTINIAN WOMEN

ICSPR started specialized training course about the political participation of Palestinian women

Palestine-Gaza Strip / International Commission to Support Palestinian Right ICSPR opened specialized training course titled ‘Strengthening the capacity of lawyers and their knowledge on the political and community participation of Palestinian women’ on ‘How to promote political and community participation of Palestinian women’ at its headquarters in Gaza Strip, with the participation of 40 graduates from all disciplines of both gender.

The training course was opened in the presence of ‘ICSPR’  Board of Directors member’s the lawyer Rami Mohsen, the Programs Director, lawyer Samer Mousa, and the Director of the Training and Awareness Department Dr. Alaa Hamouda, lawyers Rawan Abu Ghazza and Zakia Kareem.

The director of programs, the lawyer Samer Mousa, emphasized the importance of enhancing the role of women in political participation and to candidate to take an active role in decision-making on the personal and community levels, as well as strengthening their representative presence in the higher community and political bodies, and the need to increase the quota for women.

The training, which deals with the first theme, ‘The Status of Palestinian Women in Palestinian Legislation’ and ‘Women and Personal Status’, aims at enhancing the capacities, skills and knowledge of young lawyers on all issues related to women’s political and social participation.

The training seeks to enable participants to know and defend their rights at the same time through forming a network of defenders of women’s rights by providing participants with advocacy tools for women’s issues using the media.
