I.C.S.P.R: sent Flash appeal to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

To save the life of the detained journalist Mohammed Al-Qeq 

Gaza Strip/ International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (I.C.S.P.R) send on Thursday 9March 2017 flash appeal to Mr. Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to urge him to immediate action to save the life of the detained journalist Mohammed Al- Qeq who has been on hunger strike for (33) days to protest against his administrative arrest for the second time in an Israeli jail, and the continuing the policy of arbitrary administrative detention.

The flash appeal held the Israeli Occupation full responsibility for the life of the journalist Mohamed Al-Qeq, where he is staying in Al-Afula hospital and his health continues to deteriorate because of recklessness and indifference in dealing with his condition by the Government of the Occupation, as Israeli Supreme Court rejected a petition submitted by the lawyers of the prisoner to secure his release.

The flash appeal call upon, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights,  to do all  the authorized procedures to ensure responsiveness to the demands of journalist Mohamed Al-Qeq to release him and to stop the crime of administrative detention, as breaking the silence about escalating Israeli violations of International Human Rights Standards and International Humanitarian Law, obliging the occupation authorities to respect International Law and the provisions of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, And Additional Protocol I thereto of 1977, to halt the repressive practices and violations that rise to the level of war crimes against civilians in occupied Palestine, as well as stopping the administrative detention and systematic violations and the practices against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

At the end of the appeal, (I.C.S.P.R) noted that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails nearly (7000) prisoners, separated in 23 prison (500) are administrative detained (62) female prisoner and (450) child and almost (1200) suffer from various illnesses and medical neglect.
