I.C.S.P.R: Israeli Field executions against Palestinian fishermen, a renewable episode of Israeli disrespect of the human right to life.
Gaza Strip/ International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (I.C.S.P.R) strongly condemns the heinous crime committed on 15 May 2017 Tuesday for 23-year-old Muhammad Majed Bakr, an unarmed fisherman who was fatally shot by Israeli naval forces the previous day while sailing off the coast of northern Gaza.
International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (I.C.S.P.R) condemns this crime and the continuation of Israeli State policy of killing and field executions, and declare it’s solidarity with Palestinian fishermen affirming that it falls within the continued Israeli State policy of the Israeli naval blockade and isolation, as it held Israeli Occupation the international legal responsibility for the crime of killing the Palestinian fisherman Muhammad Bakr, as well as it affirms that Field executions considered as violation of the International law principles which prohibit extrajudicial executions, Arbitrary and Summary Executions, I.C.S.P.R demands:
ICSPR deeply concerns of the repetition of killing and filed execution committed by Israeli naval forces against Palestinian fishermen, this reveal a systematic Israeli policy which violates the International law.
ICSPR emphasized that this crime among other Israeli crimes against Palestinian fishermen, considered as a systematic Israeli policy.
ICSPR calls the international community to take an immediate and effective intervention in order to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians; including fishermen, and to stop the systematic Israeli violations committed against them.
ICSPR calls the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to insert this crime and other Israeli crimes against Palestinian fishermen in the preliminary study conducted by its office. This will ensure a quick completion of this preliminary study in order to move forward, and to hold the Israeli occupation forces to account for their multiple crimes against Palestinian civilians.
ICSPR urges the International Human Rights Council to take an effective action towards a binding decision for the Israeli occupying forces to implement real measures and end both the land and sea blockade on Gaza Strip. The resolution should include an appropriate international mechanism to ensure the commitment of the Occupying Power.
