Press Release,
Banning publications condemning Israeli violations and crimes on Facebook
In reference to the above subject, the International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) has received hundreds of documented information from Palestinian, Arab and human rights activists about banning their publications, which expose the Israeli violations and crimes committed against civilians and civilian facilities in the Gaza Strip, under the pretext of violating standards on dangerous persons and organizations.
By reviewing samples of banned publications, their contents demonstrate the commitment of activists and organizations to international standards of electronic publishing, and their keenness to expose Israeli violations and crimes that claim the lives of Palestinian children and women in the Gaza Strip, seeking to increase the chances of forcing the Israeli occupation to stop its military operations and to avoid further casualties, as well as to expand the scope of international accountability of the perpetrators of these violations, so as to contribute to achieving the global approach to respect for human rights.
ICSPR fears that these measures come within the framework of the continued implementation of policies aimed at blocking and combating Palestinian content and closing hundreds of pages run by activists or organizations known for integrity and transparency, we hope you make a clear announcement on the reasons enabling some of your executives to implement a practical policy based on blocking and fighting Palestinian human rights content through Facebook, and work to stop this policy and the resulting illegal actions that clearly violate the text of Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which goes beyond the obligation of states to obligate also companies, individuals and different bodies.
