Press release

ICSPR calls on the international community to stop the Israeli war crimes against Palestinian civilians.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns and denounces the escalation of the Israeli occupation crimes against Palestinian civilians, the latest of which was the perpetration of field executions in separate places in the West Bank and the Negev city on Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022, against three civilians, namely: the martyr Nader Haitham Rayan (17 years), from Balata camp in occupied Nablus, during the storming of the camp by the occupation forces, Sanad Salem Al-Harbed (27 years), from the city of Rahat in the Negev was killed during an attempt to arrest him, and Alaa Muhammad Shaham (22 years), from Qalandia camp in occupied Jerusalem during storming Qalandia camp, where the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of the aforementioned citizens and the injury of others as a result of the deliberate and excessive use of lethal force by the occupation forces.

Once again, ICSPR expresses its condemnation of the escalation of field and arbitrary killings, and stresses once again that these crimes would not have escalated against the Palestinian people if they weren’t for the Arab and international silence, taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the crisis of Ukraine and Russia, which encouraged more crimes against civilians as a new crime and a flagrant violation of the minimum provisions of international legitimacy, the rules of international humanitarian law, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

ICSPR confirms that these crimes are a link in the series of field executions crimes carried out by the occupation forces in accordance with the instructions and directives of the highest political and military level in the occupation state, which reflect the brutality and racism of the occupation in its suppression and abuse of defenseless Palestinian civilians, through facilitating operations and orders to kill on spot under false pretexts. Therefore:

1- ICSPR calls on the international community to take immediate action to secure legal protection for Palestinian civilians in the occupied territories, and to stop the policy of machinations and double standards in a way that restores consideration for the victims’ trust in the international law system and its effectiveness

2- ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to fulfill their obligations contained in Article 1 of the Convention, according to which they pledge to respect the Convention in all cases, in a manner that ensures accountability of the leaders of the occupation and the provision of international protection to the Palestinians.

3- ICSPR calls on the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian leadership to withdraw recognition, stop coordination with the occupation state and activate a national strategy based on the internationalization of the conflict, use the international human rights reports, especially the recent report by Amnesty International, and intensify work with the International Criminal Court and the Human Rights Council, and all the international actors, to urge them to take serious action to compel the occupation authorities, to comply with the rules of international law and stop their crimes against the Palestinians.

4- ICSPR urges Prosecutor Karim Khan to work hard to expedite the investigation steps into the Israeli crimes committed against the Palestinians, in a way that triumph for the victims, the independence and effectiveness of the International Court. 5- ICSPR urges the international community and the free people of the world to condemn the crimes of the Israeli occupation and support the struggle and rights of the Palestinian people, including l demanding the international organizations and governments to take practical steps to hold the occupation state accountable and to impose sanctions on it to stop the international hypocrisy policy.
