Human rights organizations call on governments and international organizations to fulfill their responsibilities to stop the war of genocide in Gaza.
Date:24 Oct 2024
Urgent Appeal
On the initiative of the International Commission “Hashd”:
Human rights organizations call on governments and international organizations to fulfill their responsibilities to stop the war of genocide in Gaza.
The world is watching an unprecedented genocide in the history of humanity, carried out by Israeli occupation forces for the 384th day, resulting in the death of 55,000 martyrs and missing people, the injury of more than 100,000 people, the forced displacement of 95% of the population of the Strip, and the destruction of approximately 85% of homes and infrastructure in the Strip. As the Israeli occupation forces continue their horrific and brutal crimes against the residents of northern Gaza for the 39th day, implementing the genocidal generals’ plan aimed at emptying northern Gaza residents, turning it into a military area, and later joining it to the occupation state.
Since October 6, 2024, the Israeli occupation forces have imposed a siege on the northern Strip, accompanied by a gradual ground attack on areas in northern Gaza, particularly Jabalia Camp, Mashrou’a Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, during which they have committed and continue to commit dozens of massacres against Palestinian families, demolishing, destroying, and blowing up the remaining homes and neighborhoods, deliberately targeting civilians. The death of people has reached more than 800 martyrs, hundreds of missing people, and approximately 1,500 injured, most of them children and women. In addition, tens of thousands of residents have been forcibly displaced from northern Gaza to Gaza City and the southern part of the Strip. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces continue to destroy, demolish, and burn shelters in hospitals and UNRWA schools, while continuing to impose a suffocating siege, starving and depriving 200,000 residents of northern Gaza, as they prevent and continue to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and fuel supplies needed to operate water wells, communication services, and hospital generators. In addition to these crimes, they are hindering and obstructing the work of international institutions and preventing civil defense teams and paramedics from evacuating the wounded and retrieving the bodies of martyrs from under the rubble and from the streets, preventing them from continuing humanitarian work, as they were forcibly evacuated from northern Gaza, leading to a complete halt in rescue and ambulance services. At the same time, the Israeli occupation forces are besieging Kamal Adwan Hospital and demanding its evacuation after bombing and burning the Indonesian Hospital, causing them to be out of service. During the military operation, Israeli occupation forces focused their crimes on forcing residents to evacuate homes and shelters at gunpoint, forcing them to move through Beit Lahia Main Street. As they passed through the roads designated by occupation army, men and women were searched and interrogated, with hundreds of men being arrested, tortured, and detained in unknown locations, in addition to the field execution of some of them. Up to the time of issuing this statement and appeal, Israeli occupation forces continue to impose a siege on the remaining residents inMashrou’a Beit Lahia and Beit Lahia, pursuing them with killing, massacres, and bombing to forcibly displace them and empty northern Gaza of its residents as part of the extremely brutal genocidal plan by the generals.
The undersigned organizations, while strongly condemning the continued international failure and inaction to stop the war crimes and genocide against Palestinians, reaffirm the responsibility of the international community and international organizations to intervene coercively and humanely to stop the brutal genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes, protect the rules of international humanitarian law, international human rights standards, and enforce the measures of the International Court of Justice. They call on the leaders of free nations, the peoples of the world, and international and regional organizations to intensify official and popular movements to prevent the depopulation of northern Gaza, provide international protection for Palestinians, work seriously to stop the Israeli aggression, genocide, displacement, siege, and starvation, and ensure the opening of safe corridors for the flow of humanitarian aid and medical supplies, while activating accountability, boycotts, and sanctions against the apartheid and occupation state.
