Press Release
The International Commission”Hashd”strongly condemns the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the deliberate targeting of civilians.
The International Commission”Hashd” condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, which has targeted civilians, residential areas, hospitals, and schools, particularly in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
Since the evening of Monday, September 23, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft have launched over 1,100 airstrikes targeting more than 200 cities, towns, and villages in southern Lebanon, resulting in at least 356 martyrs and 1,246 injuries, most of whom are children, women, and paramedics. Additionally, tens of thousands of citizens have been forcibly displaced from targeted areas, which underscores the intentional targeting of civilians through brutal and indiscriminate attacks on civilian life and infrastructure.
Hashd strongly denounces the American support and complicity in the aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, and the region. It warns of the consequences of the blatant failure and impotence of the international community to stop the crimes of genocide and the aggression of the occupation, which has contributed to providing a new green light for the continuation and expansion of Israeli aggression against Lebanon. This includes the worst crime of genocide through the bombing of pager devices and radio equipment, the targeting of villages and towns in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the perpetration of extrajudicial killings that constitute war crimes, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens and injuries to nearly 5,000 citizens.
Furthermore, these recent attacks by the Israeli apartheid regime occur within the context of its ongoing war crimes and genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories, which have led to around 150,000 martyrs and 70% of the wounded being children and women since October 7, 2023. This demonstrates the occupation’s disregard and contempt for all rules of international humanitarian law and human rights standards, solidifying a lawless environment and state terrorism, completely ignoring international law and the UN Charter and resolutions, which deepens the factors of instability and humanitarian tragedy in the region and threatens international peace and security.
Hashd calls upon the international community, particularly the United Nations, third-party countries, the European Union, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and all free people of the world to act to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip, to provide international protection for civilians, and to take all necessary measures towards boycotting and imposing sanctions on the state of Israeli occupation, expelling it from all international organizations, and holding its leaders and soldiers accountable before international courts.
