“HASHD”  Condemns Israeli Targeting of Displaced Persons in Gaza and Calls for International Action to Stop the Genocide

The International Commission “Hashd” condemns the deliberate targeting by the Israeli occupation forces of displaced persons attempting to return to their homes in Gaza City. These individuals were forcibly displaced to the southern Gaza Strip by Israeli forces five months ago. Israeli forces stationed along Rashid Street opened fire and launched smoke bombs at them to prevent their progress towards Gaza City and the northern governorate. This resulted in the death of five individuals and the injury of dozens of civilians.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression and genocide now stands at 33,729 martyrs and 76,371 injured since October 7th.

HASHD calls on the international community, the parties to the Geneva Conventions, the United Nations and its specialized agencies to condemn Israel’s deliberate targeting of forcibly displaced persons and its continued prevention of their return to their homes, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice. HASHD urges them to take serious action to stop the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and to compel Israel to comply with the decisions of the Security Council, the General Assembly of the United Nations, and the International Court of Justice to take all measures to stop the targeting of civilians, protect them, and ensure the flow and delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, who continue to suffer as a result of ongoing forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.
