The International Commission “Hashd” Strongly Condemns Israeli Minister of Energy’s Decision to Cut Electricity Supply to Gaza and Deems it a Form of Collective Punishment
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) strongly condemns the decision by the Israeli Minister of Energy to cut electricity supply to Gaza, considering it a form of collective punishment that amounts to a crime against humanity prohibited under the Fourth Geneva Convention.
The International Commission ” Hashd ” warns of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of this decision on the besieged population of the Gaza Strip, which was already suffering from electricity shortages. With this decision, the electricity available to residents and essential sectors, including healthcare and public services, has been reduced to no more than four hours per day, leaving a staggering 16-hour power outage.
The International Commission ” Hashd “ calls upon the international community, international organizations, and high contracting parties to the Geneva Conventions to take serious action to halt war crimes, crimes against humanity, and collective punishment in Gaza. It demands that pressure be exerted on the Israeli occupying state to adhere to the provisions and standards of international humanitarian law, and to restore electricity and internet services.
