“International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination”
According to the International Commission “HASHD” the silence of the international community is a major factor behind the pervasive policy of discrimination and apartheid by the Israeli occupation.
The world commemorates March 21 each year as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is an important annual occasion to reaffirm the commitment to building a world of justice, equality, and respect for human dignity, free from racial discrimination.
This occasion comes in the light of Israel’s continuing occupation practices and its systematic application of the apartheid regime towards all Palestinians, through various policies such as expropriation, exclusion, and other cruel policies in all territories under Israeli occupation that clearly amount to apartheid, as well as increasing Israeli restrictions impeding the realization of the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly under Israel’s current government, which has worked to prepare a package of various legislation and resolutions governed by a common denominator of racism.
Israel’s plans, practices, policies, and other ongoing and systematic crimes have ensured that Israel’s hegemony is entrenched. Its repressive regime, regarded as the most dangerous form of apartheid in the 21st century, and a grotesque repression of crimes against humanity committed to persecute the Palestinian people to dismantle the geographical unity of the territory of the State of Palestine and change its demographic composition, in line with racist ideology and the colonial settlement expansion methodology, confirmed in international reports, the latest of which was Amnesty International’s report of February 20, 2022, which was unanimous that since 1948, Israel had used the Palestinian people in the State of Palestine and within the Green Line “. to achieve and strengthen Israeli Jewish hegemony, which constitutes a crime against humanity under the Rome Statute, is a violation of human rights and a violation of public international law.
The international commission “HASHD”, commending the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of Israel’s policy of deepening the policy of apartheid and racial discrimination and holding the international community responsible for the escalation of such policies, which would not have continued without silence on these crimes; recalling the decision taken by the International Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination on Thursday, 12 December 2019, at its 100th meeting in Geneva, recognizing its competence to consider the complaint submitted by the State of Palestine against the Israeli military occupation authorities, as the latter “violates the principles of the said Convention”; Reaffirming the importance of operationalizing Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic diplomatic action to effectively implement the relevant resolutions on the rights of the Palestinian people, it demands and registers the following:
- The International Commission “HASHD”, calls on the international community to break its silence, which is a major factor behind the continuation and escalation of the policy of discrimination and apartheid by the colonial Israeli occupation in its sense of immunity from prosecution and accountability for its grave violations of the principles of international law, which has enabled it to go unpunished and allowed for the spread of apartheid.
- The international commission “HASHD”, demands that the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court complete the criminal investigation and move to the stage of prosecuting Israeli criminals, including civilian, military, and colonial officials, for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the crime against humanity of apartheid or persecution.
- The International Commission “HSAHD”, calls on the National Authority to immediately halt security dealings with Israel and stop so-called security coordination.
