I.C.S.P.R: Started training course titled” Social Media and International Human Rights”

The International Commission to Support Palestinians Rights, started a specialized training course on Monday morning 6/02/2017 at its headquarter in Gaza city, entitled “Social Media and International Human Rights” targeting (35) faculty of Mass Communication students at the Palestinians universities and social media activists in Gaza Strip.

Wissam Jouda, The Commission Vice Chairman, opened the training course, where she welcomed participants and stressed about the Commission role in protecting human rights and supporting Palestinians rights.

Nesma Al-Sheikh Ali, Director of Media department, stressed that:” This training course aimed to make participants contribute in improving and increasing the awareness in support issues, advocacy campaigns, and dissemination human rights culture”

Dr. Alaa Hamouda, Director of Training department added that: “The Commission looked into its strategic plan to implement a series of specialized training programs that contribute significantly to form a group of youth who can make media activities about human rights violation, and forming” social media club” in order to communicate with local and international human rights organizations and contributes to build international alliances and broaden the base of participation and solidarity with the Palestinian rights in the world and issue  a human rights reports in various domains”.

The training course of(20) hours sheds light on different topics including: Introduction to International Humanitarian Law, freedom of opinion and expression and the right to get information, using social media tools mechanisms in advocacy campaigns, legal content  industry through social media platforms, how to make digital campaign and turn it on the ground , the impact of hashtags on social media,  Leadership and team building, Advocacy and lobbying campaigns, Activating International Solidary Mechanisms.
