ICSPR EXCESSIVE USE OF FORCE AGAINST PALESTINIAN DEMONSTRATORS ON THE BORDERLINE INDICATES ISRAEL’S BLATANT DISREGARD OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS

ICSPR excessive use of force against Palestinian demonstrators on the borderline indicates Israel’s blatant disregard of international law and human rights
International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (I.C.S.P.R) strongly condemns the use of the Israeli occupying forces along the borderline on Friday, 9 June 2017, gunfire and tear gas against demonstrators, which lead to killed a Palestinian protester A’aed Khamis Joma’a 19 years-old from Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, after he was shot in the head, and injured at least fifteen others while they were around 50 to 150 meters at the border area participating in peaceful demonstration against blockade which launched since May 2017.
It’s worth to mention that A’aed Joma’a , is the second martyr during a very short period, where 25-year-old Fadi Ibrahim al-Najjar was shot dead with a live bullet by the Israeli occupying forces positioned at the borderline, in khuza’a village in the southern Gaza Strip.
International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (I.C.S.P.R) reiterates its condemnation of the crime of Gaza Strip blockade, where it considered the filed execution by excessive use of force as flagrant and serious violation of the principles of international law, which prohibit by law all extra-legal, arbitrary and summary executions, as well as it warns form explosion of the humanitarian situation in Gaza due to continuing collective punishments in Gaza Strip, therefore; International Commission record and demand the following:
ICSPR viewed with deep concern the repetition of killing and filed execution by the Israeli occupying forces against Palestinians peaceful demonstrators in Gaza Strip.
ICSPR considered the repetition of such crimes reveals an Israeli systematic policy, which carry out clear disregard of the international law.
ICSPR affirms that Israeli Occupation Forces continued to carry out field executions using lethal killing tools, although the circumstances does not require the use of excessive force, which considered a war crime according to Rome Statute.
ICSPR demand the Palestinian Diplomacy to make more efforts to refer these situations to Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in order to complete the preliminary study; to make step forward towards an international investigation of the crimes committed by the occupying forces, which can lead to account the occupation leaders.
Based on that, ICSPR calls international community and the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to make urgent and immediate action to lift the siege imposed on Gaza Strip, which left devastating humanitarian effects on all aspects of life in Gaza, exacerbated in dangerous way recently, because of the policy of collective punishment.
