The International Commission (ICSPR) condemns the escalation of field executions that the Israeli occupation forces commit against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) condemns in the strongest possible terms the continuation of the Israeli occupation authorities’ field executions crimes against Palestinian civilians in cities and villages in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the most recent of which were in the past 24 hours, when they executed 2 Palestinian citizens in cold blood, the first was “Muhammad Ali Al-Naem” (27 yr), on 23 February 2020, in east of Khan Yunis. The Israeli occupation forces opened fire and an artillery shell towards a number of citizens, after which an Israeli military bulldozer entered the place for tens of meters, hazing dragging the body in a brutal manner, and detain the body, in addition to intentionally injuring three citizens who tried to help the martyr.
While the second incident occurred when the occupation authorities executed “Ibrahim Maher Muhammad Zaatara,” (33 yr), a resident of the Bab Al-Asbat area in the occupied city of Jerusalem, on 22 February 2020, and also injured a number of citizens. In a blatant Israeli aggression, which constitutes a full-fledged crime in accordance with international humanitarian law, human rights instruments.
ICSPR follows with great concern, the accelerated pace of systematic killings and field executions carried out by the Israeli military occupation forces against the Palestinians in the cities and villages of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in which dozens of Palestinian civilians are killed, who do not pose any danger on the lives of Israeli soldiers, and considers that this crime, reveals a horrific Israeli policy that denies the right of the Palestinians to life, and constitutes a flagrant violation of all the rules of international humanitarian law, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Rome Charter establishing the International Criminal Court. Thereofre, ICSPR demands the following:
1- ICSPR reaffirms its position that confirms that the occupation would not have dared to commit field and arbitrary executions against the Palestinians if its not for the silence and inability of the international community to put an end to the crimes of the occupation, including the failure of the accountability system, international boycott, and the obvious American bias.
2-ICSPR calls on the international community to take immediate and serious action in order to hold the occupation leaders accountable for their crimes against civilians and to provide legal protection for Palestinian civilians in the occupied territories.
3- ICSPR urges the Public Prosecution Office of the International Criminal Court to move a step forward, to ensure that serious and immediate investigations are opened into murder and targeting crimes committed by the occupation authorities, and in a manner that strengthens the principles of international justice.
4-ICSPR calls on all Palestinian parties to expedite the completion of the reconciliation file and end the division on the basis of national partnership, as a first step towards adopting a strategy based on internationalizing the conflict and activating all accountability mechanisms and boycotting the occupation state.
