Press release,

ICSPR: The expanding Israeli settlement is a serious violation of the principles of international law and order.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR), follows up with denunciation the announcement of the intention to establish the so-called “Supreme Council for Planning and construction in the Civil Administration of the Occupation state” within the next few days to approve the construction of 1,300 housing units for Palestinians in the West Bank, in addition to approving to build 3,144 settlement units in the West Bank on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

ICSPR considers that these new measures clearly reflect the state of Israeli disregard for international law and the resolutions of the United Nations and the Security Council, and constitute a flagrant violation of the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, stressing that the silence of the international community and its institutions on the occupation’s crimes can only be interpreted as a green light to commit more crimes against the Palestinians. Therefore:

  1. ICSPR affirms that all settlement activities and measures of annexation and robbery of the occupied Palestinian territories are considered a full-fledged war crime in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute.
  2. ICSPR calls on international organizations, especially the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and regional organizations, especially the League of Arab States and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, to exert serious and effective pressure on the occupation authorities, to ensure stopping their illegal settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
  3. ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership to take serious action at the national and international levels, including activating diplomacy to confront settlement crimes.
  4. ICSPR calls on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to expedite efforts to complete the opening of an independent, impartial and objective investigation into the crimes of the Israeli war occupation, particularly the crime of settlement, confiscation and Judaization, as the most effective way towards activating accountability and international justice, and reducing the scope of impunity.
