Press release,

ICSPR: The martyrdom of the child “Odeh” in Nablus is another crime of using excessive force against Palestinian civilians.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” condemns and denounces in the strongest possible terms, the continued Israeli occupation use of excessive force against Palestinian civilians and demonstrators in the West Bank, with the aim of executing them in cold blood without posing a threat to the lives of the soldiers.

The occupation forces stormed yesterday evening “May 6th“, the village of Odla in Nablus, which led to the outbreak of demonstrations in the village that the occupation forces confronted with using excessive force against the Palestinian demonstrators, resulted in the martyrdom of the child “Saeed Yousef Odeh (16 yr)” and the injury of many others.

ICSPR follows up with great concern the acceleration of the pace of systematic killings and field executions carried out by the Israeli military occupation forces against Palestinians in the cities and villages of the West Bank, which killed dozens of Palestinian civilians, who did not pose any threat to the life of occupation soldiers. ICSPR considers that this crime once again reveals an alarming Israeli policy that blatantly denies the Palestinians’ right to life, and constitutes a flagrant violation of all the rules of international humanitarian law, especially the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court; Therefore:

  • ICSPR reminds all of its firm position, that the occupation would not have dared to commit field and arbitrary executions crimes against the Palestinians if it wasn’t for the silence and inability of the international community.
  • ICSPR calls on the international community to take immediate and serious action to hold the occupation leaders accountable for their crimes against civilians and to provide legal protection for Palestinian civilians in the occupied territories.
  • ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations in Article “I” of the convention, according to which they undertake to respect the convention and to ensure its respect in all cases.
