ICSPR considers the American administration a partner to the Israeli occupation in all its crimes
For the eighth day in a row, the Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip continues, with a major escalation of its operations, which take a retaliatory character by deliberately targeting houses on the heads of their residents and multi-floor buildings and residential towers, targeting both government and police facilities and headquarters, destroying roads, especially those leading to hospitals, and main streets along the governorates and camps of the Gaza Strip, the deliberate targeting of infrastructure, and the targeting of hundreds of agricultural lands, which, according to the latest statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, resulted in the martyrdom of 198 citizens, including 58 children, 35 women, and injured 1,300 others. It also led to the partial and total destruction of 10 thousand housing units, including 800 homes that were completely destroyed. The Israeli attacks and military raids on the Gaza Strip coincided with the continued perpetration of crimes by the Israeli occupation forces and Israeli settlers against Palestinians throughout the occupied Palestinian territories and in Jerusalem, in addition to the continued application of field execution policies against unarmed Palestinian civilians. It also coincided with the failure of the Security Council, on Sunday, May 16, to issue a statement condemning and demanding an end to the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, due to the American bias towards Israel, which places the US government in the category of a partner in committing war crimes against Palestinian civilians and their properties, especially since the American bias is not limited to providing political coverage to the Israeli occupation forces, but also providing logistical and war support by providing the Israeli forces with an arsenal of war that is used to kill Palestinian civilians. The escalating military attacks in the Gaza Strip come amid the continued closure of border crossings, which will exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The International Commission for the Support of the Rights of the Palestinian People (ICSPR) reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupier by all available means, as a right recognized in international law, it emphasizes that the Israeli military doctrine has turned civilians and their properties into legitimate targets. ICSPR holds the occupation forces and the government of the United States of America accountable for the lives of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, warns of worsening the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in light of the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. Therefore: • ICSPR deplores the continuation of the international and regional conspiracy of silence over the heinous crimes committed by the war occupation authorities, and urges the contracting states to the Fourth Geneva Convention to declare a clear and explicit position towards Israel’s refusal to abide by the implementation of the agreement in the Palestinian territories • ICSPR calls on international organizations to work hard to support the Palestinian health sector in Gaza, with the necessary dispatches and medical equipment, especially in light of the weak capabilities of the Palestinian health sector, which is exhausted due to the Israeli siege and measures to counter the Corona virus. • ICSPR calls on the United Nations and the countries of the world to provide adequate financial support to ensure that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) provides adequate care for nearly 40,000 displaced Palestinians who sought refuge in their schools in the Gaza Strip • ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership to break its silence and line up with its people by stopping security coordination with the occupier in the West Bank, enable citizens to have their rights to confront Israeli crimes, and demand holding an extraordinary session of the Human Rights Council to form an international fact-finding commission, And demand holding an extraordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly to make serious decisions to protect civilians and boycott the occupation state, and to establish a program of action to end the occupation, and to call the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions for an urgent meeting to ensure respect for international humanitarian law and stop aggression and crimes against civilians. • ICSPR urges the international solidarity movement with the Palestinian people, and all Arab, regional and international organizations to move on all legal, political, diplomatic, human rights and public levels, to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
