ICSPR: The Israeli policy of extrajudicial killings is a clear contempt and disregard for the right of Palestinians to life
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” follows up the escalation of extrajudicial killings practiced against Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories with great concern and condemnation, where the latest of which was at dawn yesterday, September 30, 2021, when the Israeli occupation murdered three Palestinian civilians, including a woman in cold blood, two of them in the West Bank and one in the Gaza Strip, namely: Ms. Israa Khaled Aref Khuzaymah (30 yr, from Jenin in the occupied West Bank), Alaa Nasser Muhammad Zayoud (22 yr, from Jenin in the occupied West Bank), and Muhammad Abdul-Karim Abu Ammar (40 yr, from Gaza Strip).
ICSPR confirms that the 3 victims did not pose any danger to the occupation forces, which deliberately killed them in the context of implementing the extrajudicial execution policy.
The Israeli military occupation authorities have recently escalated its crimes, in a clear reflection of the declared and systematic Israeli policies that indicate a clear contempt for the Palestinians’ right to life, which are considered grave crimes under the established principles of international law and action.
ICSPR expresses its condemnation and confirms once again that these crimes would not have escalated against the Palestinian people if they were not for the silence of the international community, which the occupation authorities took it as a green light to commit more crimes against safe civilians.
ICSPR warns against the consequences of the Israeli continuation of the policy of extrajudicial killing and field execution against Palestinian civilians. Therefore:
1-ICSPR calls on the international community and all its institutions to act urgently to secure legal protection for Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, where the pace of war crimes and crimes of racial discrimination has escalated in an unprecedented and blatant manner.
2-ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations contained in Article 1 of the Convention, according to which they undertake to respect the Convention and to ensure respect for it in all cases.
3-ICSPR calls on the Palestinian Authority to start working seriously and mobilize all available diplomatic, political and legal spaces, in order to strengthen efforts to isolate, boycott, and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people.
4-ICSPR stresses the importance of intensifying work with and next to the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Council and all international actors, to urge them to take serious action to compel the occupation authorities to comply with the rules of international law, including exerting pressure to expedite the investigation steps at the International Criminal Court.
