Press release
The International Commission (Hashd) urges the international community to take action immediately to put an end to the ongoing assaults on holy sites in occupied Palestinian territory.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) is deeply concerned and dismayed by the escalation of Judaization and storming of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards, the most recent of which was the storming of dozens of extremist settlers into the Blessed Mosque courtyards this morning, Sunday, 9/17/2023, with heavy security force protection. The Israeli occupation, during which invaders conducted inflammatory tours and performed Jewish ceremonies in its courtyards.
This coincides with the beginning of the Jewish holidays, which the occupation government and its racist and extremist authorities are exploiting to allow settlers access to the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque at a time when it seeks to impose more restrictions and restrictions on Muslim worshipers, including withholding their identities and keeping them away from prayer and entering the mosque for varying periods. Those under the age of 50 are prohibited from entering.
In addition to large-scale arrest campaigns against Jerusalemites and Al-Aqsa Mosque visitors, the transformation of the occupied city of Jerusalem into a military barracks, within the framework of imposing the apartheid regime, and changing the landmarks and features of the city, and imposing a fait accompli by brute force, within the framework of imposing a plan to divide it temporally and spatially, in a way that violates The lowest international charters and resolutions related to the Holy and Occupied City.
The International Commission “Hashd” evaluates the increasing rate of Judaization and permitting settlers to storm the borders. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is an attack on the international community’s will and institutions, and it considers the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in terms of enforcing its decisions and promoting peace and security in the region, by translating its decisions rejecting Judaization practices. Israelization and degradation of the occupied city and its sanctuaries led to decisions that put pressure on the occupying power to force it to respect the city’s historical and legal character, as well as the inadmissibility of changing the state of affairs by force.
Warned of the repercussions of spatial and temporal control over Al-Aqsa Mosque, which constitutes a flagrant contempt for the sensibilities of millions of Muslims and would light a fuse in the area, it thus notes and demands the following:
1- The International Commission (Hashd) points out that these escalating breaches of the Holy City would not have occurred if the international community had not failed to enforce its resolutions on the Palestinian question. In this regard, it invites the international community to voice its opposition to the Judaization, annexation, and Israelization of the seized city and its sanctuaries.
2- The International Commission (Hashd) calls on the international community and its various institutions, including the International Criminal Court, to launch responsible and meaningful investigations into the escalating violations against the occupied city and its sanctuaries, in a manner that ensures the implementation of the principle of punishment for international crimes, as well as the boycott and dismissal of the occupation leaders.
3- The International Commission (Hashd) demands the Palestinian Authority to internationalize the issue of occupied Jerusalem and the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as to use all legal, diplomatic, and political spaces to change the existing historical situation and infringe on the right to worship and practice religious rituals.
4- The International Commission (Hashd) urges all parties and national components to move immediately toward reconciliation, end division, and strengthen partnership, allowing for the rebuilding of political institutions, the adoption of a unified national strategy, the internationalization of the conflict, and the enhancement of citizens’ steadfastness and dignity, as this is an urgent necessity required by confronting the current national challenges.
Finished.
