Press release,

ICSPR sends a letter of appreciation to the public Prosecutor of the Permanent International Criminal Court Fatou Bensouda for its positive efforts on the Palestinian path.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) sends a letter to the Public Prosecutor of ICC, where it expressed its sincere appreciation for her tireless and positive efforts on the Palestinian path regarding the international crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians under occupation in the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

The letter also reminds Ms. Bensouda that until this moment the Israeli military forces (supported by decisions of the Israeli government and with fortification by the legislative and judicial systems) continue to commit crimes described as war crimes and against humanity “arbitrary and unlawful killings, arrestment and deprivation of liberty, exposing prisoners to systematic torture and deliberate medical neglect, escalation of settler crimes, settlement and the confiscation and demolition of civilian properties, including forced displacement on a large-scale as in the village of “Humsa al-Fawqa” and other villages in Jericho in the occupied West Bank, and the large-scale military actions against civilians in the Gaza Strip, including the imposition of the illegal siege for the 15th consecutive year, causing disastrous deterioration of the overall human rights situation, and many other international crimes that could be leaned on as a reasonable basis for opening an immediate and direct international investigation, in line with the principle of prompt justice, and in a way that establishes a more respectful international community, preserving humanity, and the principles of international humanitarian law and human rights law.

ICSPR once again welcomed the decision of the First Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court; Issued on: 05 February 2021 by a majority of its members, which confirms the territorial jurisdiction of the court over the situation in occupied Palestine (the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip). It also hoped for opening an international investigation into the Israeli crimes as soon as possible and during the transitional period.
