ICSPR SENDS MANY LETTERS, MEMOS AND COMPLAINS TO ENSURE EXPOSING THE VIOLATION AND ENHANCING ACCOUNTABILITY

International Commission to support Palestinian rights sends many letters, memos and complains to ensure exposing the violation and enhancing accountability
Palestine / Gaza strip: Since the beginning of this year and as part of its interest in employing the international mechanisms available to NGOs and individuals, International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights commenced to address dozens of international bodies, committees and special rapporteurs by sending complaints, messages, appeals, memos, and information about patterns of violations against human rights.
ICSPR aims to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop its policies and its measurements against the Palestinian people and to ensure that Israel is under accountability for the crimes it committed against the Palestinian people. ICSRP also aims to ensure that the Palestinian Authority is fulfilling its moral and legal obligations towards the Palestinian citizens. Therefore, ICSRP took several interventions as the following:
* On 16 September 2017, ICSPR sent a legal portfolio (in Arabic and English) to the Evidence and Information Unit in the International Criminal Court containing all written and visual documents that were presented and folded particularly during the People’s miniature Court, which aims to trail the Israeli war criminals on 29th of August 2017, . The legal memorandum contained three legal briefs regarding settlement, Israeli crimes committed during summer of 2014 against the Gaza Strip, and crimes against prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails and detention centers, in addition to a CD contains all pre-trial and post-trial videos photographs , and o a video a of witnesses and victims of the three files.
* On 14 of September 2017, ICSPR send to Mrs Fatou Bensouda, the international criminal law prosecutor and legal adviser, a briefing note about the acknowledgement of the former Israeli Occupation Forces Minister Mushih Yallon for the responsibility of the occupation stat about killing and burning Dawabsha family. On February 26, 2017, another legal briefing note was sent to the International Criminal Court regarding the 18 month sentence, issued by an Israeli court on 21 February 2017, against the Israeli soldier Eleazar Azaria for killing ” unintentionally” the Palestinian citizen: Abdel Fattah Yusri Abdel Fattah Sharif in Hebron, on Thursday morning, 24 March 2016. ICSPR calls Mrs Bensouda to reconsider this sentence and other sentences issued by the Israeli military courts and open a new investigation regarding all the sentences issued in trails related to committing crimes against the Palestinian people.
Since the beginning of this year, ICSPR has sent 49 letters to two special rapporteurs. The most recent was Tuesday, 19 September 2017, which were sent to Mr. Juan Mendez Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. The letters call for immediate intervention through specific measurements to stop the torture of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails. On 11 September 2017, the Commission sent a letter to Mr. David Kay Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression. ICSPR calls for stopping the interference by the Palestinian Authority against public and private freedom. It also aims to ensure its retreat from implementing the Electronic Crimes Act of 2017. On 14 September 2017,ICSPR sent a message to Mrs. Gabriela Knoll, The Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, to call for immediate intervention by sending an urgent appeal to the Palestinian executive authority to stop its continuous encroachment on the judiciary and the rule of the law and to address its dangerous consequences.
Over the past three months, the international Commission to Support Palestinian Right sent 140 complains to the International Human Rights Council, and a number of committees. All included complaints about specific patterns of violations, including violations of the right to freedom of movement, travel, religious rites, and the right of proper treatment. The complains also includes the violation of citizens ‘ enjoyment of their fundamental rights, the violation of parliamentary immunity and salaries cut and deduction among other economic and social rights in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as a result of the continuous Israeli blockade and sanctions and official governmental decisions.
ICSPR also address the Secretary General of the United Nations ,High Commissioner for human rights, the Human Rights Council members, representatives of European parliaments, parliamentary unions, international and regional organizations, and Embassies of some States to support human rights in Palestine and urge them to intervene to put pressure to stop human rights violations in Palestine and supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
* Strengthening international solidarity through various activities organized by the Goodwill Ambassadors Network around the world. This network, which take it upon herself to move the international and national forums and around the world to raise its awareness towards the rights of the Palestinian people and to expose the Israeli violations which is considered as war crimes according to Roma Description of war crimes.
