Press Release
The International Commission: The continued failure of the international community to activate international accounting tools contributes to encouraging the occupation forces to commit more crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) condemns the violent Israeli military attacks that resumed on Monday, 12 November 2018, on a large scale on Gaza Strip, where the Israeli artillery and warplanes escalated their military targeting of agricultural lands and security locations all over Gaza strip, which until 20:30 led to killing 3 civilians: Muhammed Zakaria Altetri (27 yr), Mohammed Zuhdi Hassan Odeh (22 yr), and Hamad Mohammed Mousa al-Nahhal (23 yr).
The current Israeli escalation follows a bloody night in Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli special forces and warplanes targeted the eastern areas of Khan Yunis governorate, killing 7 Palestinians: Nour al-Din Muhammad Salameh Baraka (37 yr), Mohammed Majed Mousa al-Qara (23 yr), Khaled Mohammed Ali Quweider (29 yr), Mustafa Hassan Abu ‘Odeh (21 yr), Mahmoud Atallah Musabeh (25 yr), Alaa Eddin Fawzi Mohammed Feseifis (19 yr) and Omar Naji Muslim Abu Khater (21 yr).
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights renews its condemnation of successive Israeli crimes, and considers that the insistence of the Israeli Government and its military forces on the approach of murder and the denial of their right to life carries a clear denial and disregard for the human rights and law system, and it affirms that the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention have a legal obligation according to article 1 of the Convention, under which they undertake to respect and ensure the respect of the Convention in all circumstances, as well as their obligations under article 146 of the Convention to prosecute those accused of committing serious violations of the Convention. Therefore ICSPR demands the following:
- ICSPR confirms that the Israeli occupation forces continued their crimes against the citizens of Gaza Strip and their properties, which would not have happened if the international community broke its silence, which grants the leaders of the occupation state immunity in the face of accountability and international justice.
- ICSPR urges the international community to immediately and urgently intervene to force the Israeli occupation to cease its ongoing hostilities on Gaza Strip and to prevent the escalation of the Israeli violence.
- ICSPR urges the Palestinian leadership and diplomacy to exert more efforts with the International Criminal Court to urge it to move forward towards the opening of an international investigation into international crimes committed by the occupation forces to ensure that Israeli criminals do not escape punishment.
- ICSPR urges the International Solidarity Movement with the Palestinian people and all Arab, regional and international organizations to act on all legal, political, diplomatic, human rights and popular levels to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip.
