ICSPR: The killing of innocent children in the Gaza Strip provides additional evidence of the disregard of the occupation forces for the international law and order
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the continued silence of the international community on the crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians, especially the children, and believes that international complacency is a direct cause of the Israeli occupation forces’ continued use of excessive and lethal force in dealing with Palestinian children. Where the Israeli occupation forces fired at least one missile at three children who were hunting birds near the Separation Barrier southeast of Deir al-Balah, Which led to their death at approximately 18:30 on Sunday, 28 October, the children are: Khaled Bassam Mahmoud Abu Sa’id (14 years), Abdul Hamid Mohammed Abdul Aziz Abu Zaher( 13 years), Mohammed Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Sattari( 15 years), All of whom were residents of Wadi al-Salqa village in Deir al-Balah. The occupation forces also prevented ambulances from reaching them in the right time to help them. They allowed the ambulance to go to them in time, only after three hours of the incident. ICSPR condemns the Israeli crime, considering that obstruction of medical staff despite their claim of commitment to medical neutrality, a further evidence of the continuing use of force by the occupation forces against Palestinian civilians and their disregard for their lives, Therefore:
- ICSPR reiterates its condemnation of the Israeli occupation crimes and its military forces, which deliberately and systematically kill Palestinian civilians, especially children.
- ICSPR considers that the Israeli occupation crimes against children are a clear expression of a doctrine owned by these military forces, based on the fact that the killing of children today is the killing of the enemy of tomorrow.
- ICSPR calls upon the international community, especially the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and conflict, to take urgent action to provide due protection to Palestinian children in Gaza Strip, and the urgent need to include the Israeli occupation forces on the black list of countries that violate the rights of children.
- ICSPR urges the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to take the step forward by completing the preliminary examination and taking a decision to open an initial investigation into the Israeli crimes, because that is the best way to deter the occupation forces from committing more crimes and more casualties among innocent children.
