ICSR: The Israeli occupation forces continue targeting the participants in the return and break the siege march for the 26th Friday of the peaceful return marches
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the targeting of participants in the events of the peaceful return and break the siege marches by Israeli occupation forces stationed on the borders of Gaza Strip, For the 26th consecutive Friday, Where they used excessive and lethal force towards children, women and young people participating in those events, despite the fact that there is no real danger or threat to the lives of soldiers in the area of demonstrations. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip since the noon hours of Friday, 21 September 2018, Israeli occupation forces in eastern borders of Gaza strip killed Karim Mohammed Kallab, 25 years, (312) demonstrators were wounded by live ammunition and tear gas canisters, (4) serious injuries , 1 critical, 20 children under the age of 18, and 2 women, Thus, the number of victims among the peaceful demonstrators has risen from 30 March 2018 to date, killing 184 civilians and injuring more than 20472 citizens. ICSPR considers the continuation of the occupation forces to target the peaceful demonstrators a renewed cycle of Israeli policy that carries with it more disregard and denial of the basic rights of the Palestinians, In framework of a plan supported by a decision of the highest levels of security and political in the Israeli occupation state, Which is a green light for the soldiers to target more Palestinian civilians. Therefore, ICSPR demands the following:
–ICSPR affirms that the targeting of peaceful demonstrators by Israeli occupation soldiers is a complete war crime against civilians and that the occupation bears the legal responsibility for this.
– ICSPR warns the international community against the continued silence on the Israeli crimes committed against the demonstrators, and calls upon the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention and the international community to act promptly in order to resolve the repeated crimes in accordance with the requirements of international justice.
– ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership and diplomacy to activate its role by referring the files of the Israeli war crimes to the International Criminal Court pursuant to Article 14 of the Rome Statute, including the crimes of targeting peaceful demonstrators in the return marches, which would reduce the scope of impunity.
– ICSPR Urges the international community to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to support the great return marches on all legal, political, diplomatic and human rights levels, so as to ensure the realization of the right of return of Palestinian refugees and end their suffering for seventy years.
